#41 - Overcoming Generational Trauma (with Karena Virginia)

The Holistic GLP-1 Podcast with Elizabeth McGann
In this episode of Drop the Weight, we are joined by Kundalini Yoga expert Karena Virginia to discuss her latest work in the fields of ancestral healing, epigenetics and overcoming generational trauma.
The author of the critically influential book Essential Kundalini Yoga and an early forerunner of the Me Too movement, Karena is a highly sought after leader in yogic philosophy as it applies to daily life and a voice of feminine courage confronting sexual abuse.
In this podcast, Karena explains how unaddressed generational trauma is often the root cause of afflictions people suffer from, showing up in many identifiable forms: including obesity issues, addiction disorders of various kinds, depression and the widely experienced feeling of being unable to function in modern society.
Karena also shares the story of how she chose to publicly speak out about being sexually groped by Donald Trump (after a decade of silence) in 2016; and how she later struggled with being a leader in the Kundalini yoga space after its founder Yogi Bhajan was outed for sexual abuse in 2019.
A mixture of both light and dark, this podcast is a must listen for anyone needing a metaphysical uplift in challenging times!
